Google AdWords is a good place to start for official advertising. It sounds intimidating, but it’s quite an easy solution and you choose your budget (i.e. $20 for your first month – when that runs out, it stops showing your ads).
I’ve used AdWords in the past to drive traffic to my web site, and I never had any issues.
Secondly, look at search engine optimization – the way your web site is constructed, both in front-end text content and back-end coding tricks, determines how easy it is to find on search engines and how high it lists in the search.
You can research SEO or hire a web developer to provide a solution for you.
adwords is alright but you can get a considerable amount of false click through’s on it. Netherless, it will still drive traffic to your site.
By the way, the google map showed me a picture of derby but I am located in leicester?
Well, I use Google AdSense for my website. I’ve been getting double the amount of traffic too my site with google adsense.
You could also make videos on youtube, giving an example of your site, this also helps bring a little more traffic.
And last of all, ask someone if you can sponsor them or they can include an ad on the main page of their website. (for free of course)
I’m sponsoring over 50 websites right now, if you get them to do that, then they will post a link or a picture with a link proving some information on the website.

You have to continually optimize your web site for a minimum of 1 year. Look up Search Engine Optimization or SEO on how to do it.
The goal is to have your web site display first on the search result list when someone use keywords, related to your site, to search in Google or Yahoo.
