How to see web traffic through verizon fios router?
Q/A: I want to be able to see what websites my kids are looking at, they know how to delete history so that’s not helpful for me. With my old router I was able to see all the websites that were being looked at but now I have Verizon Fios and I do not know how to do that.

Routers are designed to route traffic and not broadcast it. You should not have been able to see traffic flow through the router. If you only have Verizon FiOS then you are able to replace their router with yours on the condition that the router is not connected through MoCA but Ethernet.

I don’t think you can actually look at exact websites being visited, but there is a parental control feature for blocking of sites you specify. Just log into the router (192.168.1.1, username, password) and click on Parental Controls. Under the parental controls menu, this is the wording they use:
Note: "While these basic Parental Controls are a great way to limit access to particular sites, there are other computer software applications that provide computer Monitoring and computer Content Cleanup. Monitoring involves keeping records of the computer user’s activity for later review. Content Cleanup involves scanning the actual content of websites, emails, and attachments for specific words to block or for spyware, popups, adware, etc."
I use an application called Webwatcher. It costs an arm and a leg, but it does it all. Check it out:

Cain and Able. Don’t know how to use it but it listens to the network in a mode known as promiscuous and can show you what goes on. However, I don’t believe that this will work all that well on wired connections.
If you just want to control what they see, http://www.astaro.com/ has a software application that you can set up on an old PC and use for free. They also have an internet appliance that sits between your router and the modem. It can control all the traffic going into and out of your home. It can filter out spam, viruses (teens refuse to believe they could ever infect your computers) and porn sites.
An alternative that they can get around is to configure your router to use http://www.opendns.com/ It too has filters and the like. But getting around it is easy. On the local PC, substitute your own DNS servers for the one provided by the router
The Verizon router does not store history.
I have checked in several places and found out that you cannot view because of the Verizon router, but as the commentor’s said and have recommended you can go for these options or you can control the traffic. Kids will never trust you and will hide things more from you if they find out that you are spying on them. So be careful and rather work on winning their trust.
Routers are unable to broadcast traffic and function strictly to direct it. Thus you would have to install third party software to hep you observe which websites your children are viewing.
